What Is Open Data?
The concept of Open Data is about making data held by public bodies available and easily accessible online for reuse and redistribution.
Data is made open to facilitate accessibility and transparency, and the data can be used by all to bring about social, economic, and environmental benefits.
Courts Service Open Data Portal
The Courts Service Open Data Portal aims to support the Open Data initiative and present courts data in a simple and understandable manner.
The portal will provide easy access to the data and allow users to download data.
The Courts Service data on the portal is free to use, reuse, and redistribute, and is licensed under CC BY 4.0.
Data will be provided in machine readable formats - both CSV and JSON.
The initial launch of this portal will focus on publication of existing Annual report data which is already publicly available and digestible in PDF formats.
The Courts Service is committed to ongoing developments in the area of open data in line with current government initiatives and enhancements in the maturity level and capability of the organisation.
